So first and foremost a huge thanks to City of Karratha- our Gold sponsor!
Our Quiz Night was quite the extravaganza this year, thanks to the generosity of the City Of Karratha Grant which enabled us to have our Superheroes theme amplified by amazing balloons by Gorgeous Gifts & Balloons, paid for wonderful lighting by Signature Music, rocking tunes by Bryan and Pete and great styling throughout thanks to Wrapped Creations.
There are many more businesses to thank though and I will try to list them all here! If I miss someone please rest assured we appreciate your assistance in making our night such an astounding success!
Thanks to our Silver Sponsors for exceptional donations and in some cases ticket sales for us as well.
Ausolar, Coldpoint, HelloWorld Karratha, KAW Engineering, Ray White Karratha, Rio Tinto, NW Tree Services, Xtreme Edge- thank you all for being such great supporters!
We also thank all the wonderful businesses below for their donation of items for our raffles, auctions or prizes.
Air Dynamics, Asset Protect, Barefoot Creations, Belle Ame, Bohemian Beauty, Burger Bus, Cellarbrations, Cheratta Lodge, Cindy Zanker Tupperware, Dampier Chinese Restaurant, Dunnart, Hair by Hayley, Handy Hands, Home Timber & Hardware, Hullabaloo, Jupps, Kanes for Keepsakes, Karratha Marine, Karratha Social Co, Keyspot, Kylie Marshall, Life & Soul, Linda Morris, Measured & Treasured, My Little Rexy, Ningaloo Marine Interactions, NW Honda, NW Realty, Onyx, Pharmacy 777, Pilbara Dive & Tours, Repco, Sunstone Design, The Cove Holiday village, The Kennel, The Wired Salmon, Wild Bohemian.
The support we received from these many and varied businesses played a huge part in enabling us to raise a staggering sum of just over $18000.00! This was double what was raised at the Inaugural Superheroes Quiz Night in 2018.
Highlights of the night included the rerun of the Superheroes Transport Paper Plane competition which was hotly contested and taken out by Tommy Mcluckie.
We introduced a new activity this year- Super Structures, where tables where challenged to build the best freestanding structure with limited supplies. We were surprised by the engineering capabilities of all in attendance and if truth is to be told- there were too many structures that met all requirements for us to choose an absolute winner. Structures had to be freestanding- using contents of the bucket so they shouldn’t have included the bucket.
Well OMG we are a charity and the winning structure was to be a round of drinks for the table, paying up on all the structures we felt met requirements would’ve meant paying for drinks for 80 people!! We were all there to raise funds for an awesome charity so I’m sure you can all understand why we decided that the winner was the structure that was built with $ bills in it to be donated to Reach Us!
Judging of best dressed is always tough when faced with so much creativity but Super gran was a clear favourite- though I am sure Jan got more than she bargained for when our MC stripped down to his undies- that was a surprise to us all!
Another highlight of the night was having Bryan & Pete involved. What a great way to finish the night! I have recordings of some fantastic dance moves which may just show up in Auction Items next year 😉
Reach Us was this year able to engage the services of Natasha Brady at Telling Designs to complete our branding, which was launched at the Quiz Night. We love the concept Natasha developed and were happy to be able to share it, visually and on new merchandise throughout the night.
Many Thanks to all who attended our 2019 Superheroes Quiz Night. You truly are all Superheroes helping us to help locals affected by cancer. We look forward to seeing you again next year for a Super night of fun- though maybe without the Superstructures as you are all too clever!
Cheers,
Reach Us Team
