Reach Us Pilbara Inc. aims to do what we can to help Pilbara locals with cancer get through what is a rough time. Part of that is encouraging them to access massages or reiki therapy or to do other things that make them feel better. That’s why we were very excited earlier this year to be able to offer two workshops for local ladies with cancer.
Our first event was organised by Cushla Ellis, beauty Lecturer at North Regional TAFE Karratha Campus. Cushla had been made aware of our organisation by one of our clients who suggested the trainees may be able to host a pamper morning for local ladies affected by cancer whilst practicing their newly learnt skills. The wonderful beauty trainees were on hand to deliver manicure and pedicure treatments. The hairdressing lecturer, Petro Gouws, also wanted to become involved and her trainees offered wash and blow dries with some wonderful scalp massages as well.
Nicole from Nicole’s Beauty and Make Up Bar volunteered her time to also be there to work her makeup magic, giving all the ladies a mini makeover. It was a fabulous morning that truly gave the ladies some time out and everyone went home feeling refreshed and pampered. The facility at the Karratha TAFE Campus is first class and once walking in the doors you feel like you are in a modern salon. Thankyou to everyone involved for making it a great morning! Our second event was a virtual Look Good Feel Better Workshop which was hosted by Natasha Girvan from LGFB. This was a fantastic morning of fun, laughter and connection with others. The Look Good Feel Better Workshop is a must do for any lady who is undergoing treatment for cancer. Natasha is a wonderful presenter who was able to virtually demonstrate a range of make up techniques. Each participant had their own LGFB kit of make up goodies to utilise through the workshop and then take home with them. The kits feature high end make up products from Chanel, Revlon and others.
Once again the lovely Nicole volunteered her time to be able to assist with some hands on help throughout the workshop. Thankyou so much Nicole, you are wonderful and the ladies really valued your expert advice and company. Thanks also to Flex Cafe who catered both events- we can highly recommend them for top quality food and service.
